Edgware Road Partnership

Year of the Bus Sculpture Trail

Edgware Road hosts one of Transport for London’s Year of the Bus sculptures, as part of their London-wide trail launched on 17 October 2014.

Come Rain or Come Shine by Thomas Dowdeswell brightens up Nutford Place, on the eastern side of Edgware Road, with the design celebrating life in the urban environment, the lives of strangers, people running by, people staring out of windows and neon lights illuminating the whole scene.

Pupils from Hampden Gurney CE Primary School, next to Nutford Place, met Thomas on 17 November for a Q&A session on the story behind his design, and learnt about Thomas's favourite artist and his influences.

The children, 24 pupils drawn from Years 3 to 6, heard about Thomas's previous work, current projects and all about the characters that can be seen in his design on Come Rain or Come Shine

Edgware Road Partnership is promoting public art in the area, to add colour and flavour to the urban setting. The London Highways Alliance have sponsored Come Rain or Come Shine.
