Junction Improvements at Praed Street

The junction of Edgware Road, Praed Street and Chapel Street is used by 4,500 pedestrians an hour and an average of 47 buses turn right from Praed Street into Edgware Road every hour. Collisions involving pedestrians, cyclists and children are above the Inner London average here.

Following a request from Edgware Road Partnership, Transport for London have moved the pedestrian island on Praed Street southwards by 1.4 metres, making the island safer for pedestrians by providing additional clearance for traffic turning right.

The pedestrian island outside the Hilton London Metropole has also been repaired, with Transport for London installing new kerbs and paving to make the island safer for pedestrians.
